Most people always thought that stainless steel is non-magnetic, so they check the material is stainless steel or not by magnet. No magnetic is good,magnetic is iron. Acturally it’s not right.

Sometimes,stainless steel products also have little magnetic,it’s work magnetic,for example,the wire rod is non-magnetic, but after punching, the products will have a little magnetic.

Now Checking the stainless steel material in China, we use the machine of spectrograph, laboratory and potion.

The position is much easy and cheap for checking stainless steel material, Usually if we want to check stainless steel 316 hex bolt, we will use the Mo2 potion, if we check stainless steel 304, we will use Ni8 postion, it's very easy to distinguish (SS304)A2 or (SS316)A4 screw/nut, but we can't make sure that it's the qualified A2/A4. Because stainless steel is like Impurity steel, it has many compostion, the potion can't tell you how much of the C, P, S, N... in it. If it's the percent is not correct, then the strength of the stainless steel will be not qualified.
